Bug Fixes

  • On phones and tablets, menus with an input field could not be typed into: the on-screen keyboard opened and closed again straight away. Affects 'Add' in the class list as well as search and filter
  • Opening a menu puts the cursor back in its first field or on its first entry reliably

New Features

  • Seating plans that were really in use are recognised: Klassenplan quietly notes which plans were actually used – from presenting, printing or exporting, saving under your own name and rearranging seats by hand. That improves the repetition avoidance, and you do not have to tick anything
  • New 'Neighbourhoods' tab under 'Plans, shuffles & neighbourhoods': it shows who has already sat next to whom and how often – with the date and the underlying data, from which you can exclude individual plans
  • Backup reminder: if your last backup is more than 30 days old, Klassenplan says so – you can postpone it or switch it off for good
  • Persistent browser storage: when you create your first class, Klassenplan asks the browser to exempt your data from its automatic clean-up; if storage runs low, a notice points it out

Improvements

  • More compact work in the class list: a tidied-up class bar, a new menu for adding students and space-saving controls for search, filter and sorting
  • Tablets in portrait now show the sidebar and the classroom at the same time; drag areas follow the input method instead of the window width
  • 'Optimize' is now called 'Refine' – the name describes better what the function does
  • The export remembers whether needs and connection lines are printed; new shortcuts for the PDFs (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+T for the seating plan, Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+C for the seating circle)
  • Extended FAQ: how data can be lost, how to take it to a new device, how often a backup makes sense and how the repetition avoidance works
  • Linguistically reworked texts throughout the app – more consistent terms and clearer hints
  • The offline notice shrinks to an icon after a moment
  • The traffic-light colors of the statistics display are stricter: green from 80 %, yellow from 50 %

Bug Fixes

  • Escape now closes only the topmost dialog and no longer the view underneath

New Features

  • Search, filter and sort in the class list: find individual students via the search, or narrow the list down to a group – for example 'restless only' or 'without photo only'
  • Edit several students at once: the checkboxes let you set gender, height, language level, social role or individual traits for the whole selection in one go
  • Undo and redo throughout the app: the class list, the seating plan and the classroom editor now respond consistently to Ctrl/Cmd+Z and Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z – an accidentally deleted student comes back together with their photo
  • Reworked class management: you now switch classes via a tidied-up bar showing the student count and offering direct access to import, export and the name game
  • Free choice of how names appear: in step 3, in presentation mode and in the export you pick between first name only, first name + last-name initial, and the full name – a hint points out duplicate first names
  • Export as PNG and SVG: besides PDF and printing, you can now save the current view as an image or a vector graphic – handy for parent letters, substitute folders or the school portal
  • Viewing direction in the export: if your desk is at the back of the room, 'From the back' rotates the plan by 180° – names and photos stay readable
  • 'Who's next?' in presentation mode: one keypress draws a random student and highlights their seat with a spotlight – everyone gets a turn before anyone repeats. The F key starts full screen
  • 'Refine' in the seating plan: adjusts the existing plan in small steps instead of shuffling it from scratch
  • Understandable CSV import: 'What the file has to look like' shows an example class list, and if a file does not fit, the message explains exactly why

Improvements

  • Seating plans are saved automatically when you leave step 3 – without cluttering the shuffle history with intermediate states
  • Reworked backups: on export a new dialog shows the strength of your password, and on restore you choose between 'Replace everything' and 'Merge'
  • Offline notice: a small badge confirms that everything keeps working without an internet connection
  • Seating circle: connection lines can be shown and hidden with the C key, and the circle can be shuffled without changing the seating plan
  • Shuffle criteria are now grouped by room, identity, abilities, behavior and social aspects, and are explained right there
  • New preview on the start page: the images can be browsed, paused and enlarged
  • Theme and language can now also be switched in presentation mode and in the name game
  • Tidied-up toolbars, consistent loading indicators, and clearer hints when tables or seats are still missing
  • Destructive dialogs now start on 'Cancel' – an accidental Enter no longer deletes anything
  • Extended FAQ and help texts, leaner bundles, shorter loading times and updated dependencies

Bug Fixes

  • PDF export: the files are now around 1 MB instead of more than 30 MB
  • The icons in the class management bar no longer slip out of place
  • The backup message now appears only once the file has actually been exported

  • Alignment guides in the classroom editor: smart guide lines appear when moving tables and room elements, letting them snap neatly into alignment – can be disabled in the view settings
  • Photo collision warning: the classroom editor now indicates when student photos would overlap or extend beyond the room – also toggleable in the view settings

  • Consistent navigation: the back buttons in presentation mode, export and the name game are now placed and styled consistently

  • Optional student photos: add, crop (pan, zoom, rotate) and display photos locally – stored only on your device, automatically downscaled and stripped of EXIF/GPS data
  • Presentation mode (/present): full-screen view for smartboards and projectors with teacher/student perspective, pan & zoom (mouse, wheel, pinch), and photo and color options
  • New room elements: additional elements with reworked shapes can be placed and rotated in the classroom
  • Keyboard control: students can now also be rearranged in step 3 via the keyboard – drag-and-drop entirely without a mouse
